Description
here is my 2nd transformers diorama from the classic 1986 cartoon movie. this is an epic battle scene of the shuttle hijacking and in my opinion the best part of the film even though I don't like the outcome. the shuttle base is a large city terrain from micro art studios painted distressed orange. the staircase is also micro art studios painted silver. the chairs are lego technic. the computer consoles are various manufacturers of 28mm scale terrain all painted orange. the 4 autobot decoy figures are prowl, brawn, ironhide and ratchet. the 7 decepticon decoy figures are starscream, megatron in alt mode (lego pistol), soundwave, hook, bonecrusher, scavenger and long haul climbing through the hole in the shuttle.
in the film the fight lasted seconds and even megatron said "this was almost too easy starscream". in my diorama id like to think the autobots put up a bigger fight while still holding the integrity of the original scene. for instance brawn racing toward megatron, prowl ready to take a shot, ratchet getting 2 pistols armed and ironhide swinging around to fire away.
I had to do a good bit of work on the decoys. replace most shoulders, add new hands from m.u.s.c.l.e. figures, attach lego fire arms, use balsa wood for a lot of pieces. then create a stance or action pose and paint each to their 1986 movie colors.
I hope you enjoy this scene. like I said before in the dinobots and devastator diorama that I have a lot more of these to come. next up- megatron must be stopped...no matter the cost.
